EVENT SCHEDULE
Friday, October 7, 2011: 4:00 - 6:30 PM - Registration
7:00 PM - Captains meeting (ALL ANGLERS REQUIRED TO ATTEND)
Saturday, October 8, 2011: 7:00 AM – Lines in the water
NOON: Weigh-in open
2:00 PM: Weigh-in closed
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Administration of polygraph tests
7:00 PM: Awards Ceremony

PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
Participation is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Minors are eligible to participate with a parent or legal guardian who must sign the release form. Entry fees charged are $50 for each angler 16 years old or over, $35 for junior anglers 15 years old and younger. A completed entry form, waiver and entry fee must be received no later than the Captains meeting at 7:00 pm, October 7, 2011. Early registration that includes complimentary gift may be completed in person at the following location:

PRIZE STRUCTURE
Each angler may weigh only one fish of each eligible species. All fish will be given one point (or fraction thereof) per pound to two decimal places.
Overall Champion - Angler with the most points of redfish and trout
Ladies Champion - Female angler with most points of redfish and trout
Jr. Angler Champion – Angler 15years old or younger with most points of redfish and trout
Biggest redfish – 1st place - 2nd place - 3rd place
Biggest trout – 1st place - 2nd place - 3rd place
Most spots – redfish
Fly Fishing Division – Angler with most points of redfish and trout caught by fly tackle
Each of the above prizes will include cash, trophies and one boat giveaway raffle ticket

SAFETY REGULATIONS
Safe boating must be observed at all times. During competition each contestant is required to comply with all applicable USCG, FWC, federal, state and local regulations.

Mandatory- Each adult angler entrant must have a cell phone is his/her possession and must provide the cell phone number on the registration form.

WEIGH-IN
Weigh-in will begin at noon and end at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2011. All competitors with fish to weigh must be in line by 2:00 PM. The post-fishing polygraph for potential winners will begin after 3:00 PM. The cell phone contact number given on entrant registration form will be used by NSBBT to confirm who will need to come in for testing and set appointment time for the polygraph on Saturday afternoon.
Anglers will be allowed to weigh in one eligible fish per species for prize consideration. All eligible redfish must be brought alive to the weigh station. Any redfish not brought in alive will be penalized 8 ounces. Trout must be no longer than 20” for prize consideration. All fish will be returned to entrant immediately after weight is recorded except that the Weigh Master may, at his discretion, keep any fish for further inspection. Any reserved fish will not be returned.

SPORTSMANSHIP
All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, and conservation. Any persons found to be guilty of cheating from previous tournaments or conspiring to cheat will be disqualified from this tournament and will be banned from future New Smyrna Beach Backwater Tournaments. Conduct reflecting unfavorably upon our efforts to promote safety, sportsmanship, fair competition and/or compliance with tournament rules are grounds for immediate disqualification and return of any prizes awarded. Note that any decision by the Tournament Committee will be final.
PERMITTED FISHING METHODS
All fish must be caught alive on the day of the tournament in a sporting manner via hook and line. Foul hooked fish (fish caught with no hooks in the region of the mouth) are not permitted. There shall be no altering of length or weight of catch. No angler may force-feed or hand-feed a caught fish.

FISHING LOCATIONS
Any inshore Volusia County location is permitted from Ormond Beach south to, and including, Mosquito Lagoon with the stipulation that no fishing is permitted from outside of Ponce de Leon Inlet. All fishing locations must be in waters accessible according to the law, USCG and FWC regulations.

POLYGRAPH TESTING
Individual trophy winners will be subject to polygraph testing before receiving any money and/or trophies. Polygraph testing for winners will be given between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The NSBBT may, at its discretion, also request that a polygraph test be taken by any other angler or crew member registered to that boat. By virtue of signing the entry form each entrant agrees to abide by the final result of the polygraph test. Refusal to submit or show up for the polygraph test will be automatic grounds for disqualification from the Tournament.

PROTEST
All protests must be made in writing and delivered to a tournament director within 30 minutes of the check-in time. By signing the entry form, all parties acknowledge that the decision of the tournament director is final. All protests must be accompanied by a $100.00 deposit which will be returned only if the tournament director determines the protest to be valid.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

It is understood by all parties that each participant enters the tournament at his or her own risk and assumes all risks that may be involved by their participation. It is further understood that anyone may elect not to participate at any time due to weather or for any other reason, in which case the entry fee for that individual will be forfeited. A release of liability waiver must be signed as part of the entry form.
